"What Really Happens - End of Life Care and Decisions - a Doctor's Perspective"
End of Life issues become more tangible than a simple signed Advanced Directive when one is actually in the situation where such documents may be called upon. Dr. Oran Basel is a hospitalist who deals with the reality of end of life decisions and circumstances every day in his work with patients.
Dr. Basel graduated from Wake Forest in 2010 with a BS in Biology and Chemistry and completed his medical school training at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center. He did his residency at UT Internal Medicine Nashville at Saint Thomas, where he then joined the teaching faculty.
Dr. Basel focuses on inpatient medicine at Saint Thomas Midtown where he sits as the internal medicine representative for the Sepsis committee. He treats a broad range of conditions but particularly enjoys managing infection.
EPC of Middle TN meetings are open only to members and invited guests. Members will receive a registration email 3 weeks prior to the event.
